This course covers the principles and practice of computer networking, working down through the layers of the Internet protocol stack: applications, transport, the network layer and routing, the link layer, and wireless. Students will study how real protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP, and IP work, and will build networked software and measure network behavior in hands-on projects.
